Background:
Being raised in the foster system, Da never knew what it was like to have a real family. She was deprived of even the basic of information about her family, not even knowing their names or her own. This was thanks to an idiotic service agent that Da fell victim to early on, forcing her to name herself. She grew up living with foster guardians that where either intoxicated or highly distant to her. Even the other kids seemed to pick up on this insecurity and started to bully her. Having no kind of support in her life, Da started to immerse herself in reading. Each book was another way to pull her mind from the world around her, and to be captivated by the lands and heroes contained inside.

This became such a huge part of her life that she would often run to the local bookstore every day, sometimes she would even make multiple trips there. It did not matter what city or town she was placed in, she always would seek out and find the closest bookstore so she would have an ever steady supply of books to read. During one of the placements in Ul’dah, on her way to the store, she found a bird’s nest in the street. It looked slightly damaged, like someone had found it and threw it away. But Da’s curiosity got the better of her, and her mind started to think up all kinds of things that could be contained inside of it. So she went and investigated it, pulling back some of the twigs and clumps of other nest materials, she found eggs where still inside of it. Most of them looked broken, but one of them was still intact. She quickly picked up the egg, and took it straight home and took care of it. Luckily one of the books that she read in the past gave her the basic understanding of what to do for it. Not too long after, the egg started to crack. She watched it with her anticipation brimming over in her eyes. Once the egg fully hatched, a little chick was sitting in the makeshift nest. Instantly the name Falco came to mind, and from that day onwards, the two of them were inseparable.

A few years later, Da turned seventeen. She grew fed up with her life of moving from house to house, and not being able to go out and see the sights like the ones contained in her books, so she ran away. It’s not like any of the people she was staying with at the time would miss her, after all she was just a meal ticket to them. She set out on an adventure across Eorzea, looking for those wonders inside of her books. She also thought that maybe, more people out there could become party of Falco’s and her family. Since not ever having anyone other than Falco to call family, the urge was there to fill that void. But every time she makes her way into a city or town, she always stops by the local markets and bookstores out of habit. You just can’t pull the adventure away from her, the ones inside of the books, or her own.
