Alright, since the RP theme poll has closed, I took a look at the results and put together an idea based on the votes. Just throwing this out there and seeing if anyone likes it. We had magic research take the top spot, with adventurers and contract/for hire going second and third. So, my idea is…

As the sun sets on the last era, there is a lot of knowledge, technical and magical, that was lost. Knowledge that could help us in this day and age. Skysteel Manufactory is working hard to advance Eorzea's technology, but who will help advance our magic?

Introducing Sundown Aetherworks!

Sundown Aetherworks is a magic research and development facility, where practitioners of all types of magic are welcome to conduct research and experiments. The Aetherworks consists of the following entities…

The Core: This consists of the researches who are conducting various experiments. Truly the core of this enterprise.

The Corona: This consists of adventurers who are employed directly by the Aetherworks. They are given steady pay, room and board. Their job is to assist the Core in whatever manner is required, be it to go out into the field and secure reagents, to act as a travel companion, bodyguard or more. Members of the Corona are allowed to refuse assignments, should a valid reason be provided.

The Rays: Consisting of contracted assistants, The Rays are composed of those who are not directly employed by the Aetherworks. These mercenaries work for Leves. Each Leve is worked out between the researcher in question and the individual contracted. Rays may be offered room and board, but unlike members of the Corona are required to pay for it. Terms worked out on a case by case basis. Sometimes a researcher won't like the idea of taking whichever members of the Corona are available and desire outside help, names they can trust. That is where the Aetherworks Leve system comes into play.

As for the experiments themselves, other members of Sundown, including the Rays, will not be subject to any experimentation without consent. Violating this rule will carry significant consequences. However, should a member provide consent, be it for coin or simple curiosity, then the researcher is absolved of responsibility assuming they accurately provided details about the experiment and what to expect.

Sundown Aetherworks, providing a safe, well-outfitted home for researchers, as well as adventurers and contract mercenaries to carry out tasks that they, themselves, cannot, or do not wish to, do on their own. In this way we hope to free the Core from mundane tasks, allowing them to focus on advancing magic across the face of Eorzea. Come join us, and help us make the world a better place.
